Hinrich Uellendahl is Associate Professor at the Section for Sustainable Biotechnology, Aalborg University Copenhagen, Denmark. He is doing research and education within bioprocess engineering and has been project leader of national and EU funded research projects with focus on the optimization of anaerobic digestion process for the conversion of agricultural residues and municipal waste and wastewater into biogas and for nutrient recovery.

This includes co-digestion of different waste types, adaptation of microorganisms, monitoring and control of the biogas process, degradation of xenobiotic compounds, nutrient recovery, biomass pretreatment, reactor design, and integrated biorefinery concepts for full conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into biofuels and biochemicals.
